Thank you for visiting the AAHE web site.
Arlington Association of Home Educators is a nonprofit corporation operating as a home school support group that is Christ centered, doing all things in a manner which honors Biblical principles, bringing glory and honor to His name. AAHE understands and accepts that all members of AAHE may not share these convictions. The group will, however, always extend our hand in love and support to all families who have chosen to educate their children at home.
~ The Foundation of AAHE ~
AAHE was formed in 1982 by a few, brave homeschooling families. Many of the early members were key plaintiffs in the Leeper vs. AISD court case which eventually defined the rights of Texas homeschoolers. Since then, AAHE has grown to support many families from Arlington and the surrounding areas of Fort Worth, Mansfield, Kennedale, Burleson, Grand Prairie, Irving, and HEB.
AAHE continues to be a Christ-centered home school support group, dedicated to doing all things according to Biblical principles and the honor of Jesus. However, AAHE understands and accepts that all members may not share these convictions and does not require members to sign a statement of faith. We will always extend our hand in love and support to all families who have chosen to educate their children at home.
The purpose of AAHE is to provide opportunities for fellowship and exchange among homeschooling families and those interested in home education in the following ways:
1. Providing moral support.
2. Exchanging resource and curriculum ideas.
3. Forming field trips and group activities.
4. Maintaining a network that communicates information about political and legal issues (specific to homeschooling) and recommended action.
The AAHE Executive Board is made up of members elected from and by the general membership. The board organizes and conducts the business of AAHE. Each board member must be actively homeschooling and agree with and sign a statement of faith.
